Jerusalem Campaign

the kotel on campus

Bring a replica of Jerusalem's Western Wall to your campus. Students write a wish, prayer, or goal on a card and place it on the display, creating an interactive way for busy students to learn about one of Judaism's holiest sites in Israel's eternal capital - Jerusalem,

Create a meaningful display on your campus with a Western Wall (Kotel) banner. Students passing by are encouraged to write a wish, goal, or prayer on a card and place it on the Kotel banner, reflecting the tradition of placing handwritten prayers to God in the cracks of the holy site, practiced by millions of visitors to the Kotel in Jerusalem each year.

Each participant also receives a keepsake card to remember the wish they made, along with information about Jerusalem, Israel's capital. Students are invited to reconnect with their local SSI chapter and share their story when their wish or goal becomes a reality.

This interactive campaign introduces busy college students to one of Judaism's holiest sites in a simple, accessible way. As students pass by, they can participate in the tradition of leaving a written wish, goal, or prayer while learning about Jewish history, Jerusalem, and Israel. Educational materials also highlight Jerusalem as Israel's capital, its reunification during the Six Day War, its religious diversity, and its enduring connection to the Jewish people.
Bring the wall to your campus!

A WALL FOR ALL...

College moves fast. Between classes, exams, jobs, and deadlines, it's easy to forget to stop and reflect.

This campaign offers students a chance to do exactly that.
Write a wish, goal, or prayer. Place it on the Wall. Keep a card to remind yourself of what you wrote.

Inspired by the tradition of the Western Wall in Jerusalem, this experience is open to every student, because hope is something we all share.
WISHES FROM THE WALL
"Pass organic chem."
"Get into law school."
"My family stays healthy."
"Find my people here."
"Peace. Just actual peace."

What's on your heart?

Doesn't have to be about Israel. A grade, a job, a diagnosis, a person - whatever is on your mind, bring life to it through the kotel!

THE CITY BEHIND THE WALL

On June 7, 1967, Israeli forces reunited Jerusalem during the Six Day War: a war of survival Israel didn't choose and almost didn't win. For the first time in nineteen years, the Old City's holy sites opened to every religion. That access, that freedom of religion, that diversity in one small walled city — none of it was guaranteed. It's the outcome of a war most students have never once been asked to look at through Israeli eyes.

We built this campaign to change that, not with a lecture, but by giving every student a reason to actually look at Jerusalem. Once a student's own wish is tucked into that wall, the story of what it took to reunite the city around it stops being history. It's personal.
