City College of New York Passes Resolution Adopting IHRA Definition of Antisemitism.
The bill includes and adopts the IHRA definition which defines antisemitism as “Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.” |
In a statement by Students Supporting Israel at City College of New York President, Avigayil Grajower said:
"I want to say a huge thank you to the CCNY USG for passing the resolution condemning antisemitism. This is a really big moment for the Jewish students at CCNY, to be formally recognized as a minority group that experiences oppression on campus." This was the third chapter in New York to have IHRA adopted on their campus. |
SSI is so proud of the leadership and persistence by the CCNY chapter of SSI! We encourage others, both within and outside of the SSI community to follow the initiative produced by SSI at CCNY today!
"The CCNY USG passed a resolution against antisemitism that included adoption of the IHRA definition of antisemitism.”
