ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

Highlighting Israel's environmental contributions to the world!
These campaigns are designed to educate the campus community on Israel's environmental achievements!
GROW Israel
A Drip Irrigation Program

The Drip Irrigation system is a revolutionary agricultural innovation, designed in Israel by Simcha Bass in 1959. Since then, Israel has assisted many water-impoverished nations and high population density in water conservation while still yielding high crops.

Drip Irrigation is t
he most efficient water and nutrient delivery system for growing crops. It delivers water and nutrients directly to the plant's root zone, in the right amounts, at the right time, so each plant gets exactly what it needs, when it needs it, to grow optimally.

Materials Include:
  • 50-150 Postcards
  • 4 Potted Plants
  • Mini Drip Irrigation Machine

Every year on April 22, Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.

In 2021, Israel announced the launch of its new 30-year environmental plan, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050. Among the targets of the program are a commitment to close all coal plants by 2025, which would represent the fastest pace of coal reduction in the world! It also aims to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions in the electricity sector by 75% - 85% by 2050, as well as improve its energy consumption per unit of product by 1.3% per year.

Educate fellow classmates and peers this Earth Day on the leader of environmental advancements - ISRAEL!

Materials Include:
  • Earth Day Kit with 50 - 150 flyers
TU B'SHVAT
Tu B’Shevat, also known as the birthday of the trees, is an opportunity to strengthen our connection to the environment.

In Israel the holiday of
Tu B’Shvat arrives along with the first signs of Spring, on the fifteenth (“tu”) day of the month of Shevat. This is perfect timing as the trees are beginning to blossom for the coming year.

Plant seeds with fellow students who wish to learn about Israel, highlighting Israel's tradition of planting trees on Tu B'Shvat!

Materials Include:
  • 50 - 100 flyers
  • 50 - 100 seed packets

SSI and non-SSI students can order a kit of flyers/postcards to distribute on campus during tabling or any other event.
