In 2017, SSI at Kent State University passed the first pro-Israel resolution of the year in the Kent State Student Senate with a vote of 18-2.

​The resolution followed a semester-long effort by the chapter and marked a significant show of support for the Jewish and pro-Israel community on campus. The victory was led by SSI Kent State Founder & President, Sophia Witt.
