In 2020, SSI at St. Lawrence University unanimously passed a resolution adopting the IHRA definition of antisemitism, becoming the 4th SSI chapter to pass the IHRA definition. The resolution was the result of a joint effort between SSI and the Jewish Student Union, championed by SSI St. Lawrence President Achiad K., who had transferred to St. Lawrence after experiencing antisemitism at his previous institution. The Thelomathesian Society - SLU's student government - played an active role in bringing the resolution to a unanimous vote.

"A year ago, I transferred schools because of antisemitism. This evening, thanks to a joint effort of Students Supporting Israel and the Jewish Student Union, a student government resolution adopting the IHRA definition of antisemitism was passed unanimously. This isn't only a personal achievement, but a big step towards combating antisemitism and ensuring the safety of the St. Lawrence Jewish community. I salute the Thelomathesian Society (SLU's student government) for their active role in passing the resolution and protecting Jewish students, together with other minorities."
