Come Spend the Summer With Us!
A partnership between Students Supporting Israel and Oranim College, the Leadership Project is a distinctive and multifaceted academic program will take place in the summer of 2018 (July 29 – August 18) and is open to college students and graduates from the United States, Europe, and all over the world. The program will be taught in English and will be based at the beautiful campus of Oranim College in the Galilee region of Israel.

The Leadership Project offers students a unique opportunity to earn six units of academic credit while receiving grounding in Israel’s history and present, experiencing the real Israel, and interacting with Israelis from all walks of life. Students will gain the knowledge necessary to effectively debunk mistruths being spread about Jews, Judaism, and Israel. Numerous field study trips throughout Israel will provide students with a close look at some of the remarkable individuals and endeavors that are the secret of Israel’s creativity, survival, and resistance. At the same time, students will gain leadership skills that will be useful when they return home to their campuses and communities.

The program will include:
  • Two courses for academic credit on Israel's successes, challenges and creative solutions, and leadership, including important, practical public speaking and writing skills (six academic credits total)
  • Field studies where students experience the sites, voices, and people of Israel
  • Cultural events
  • Hebrew language instruction
  • Krav Maga – for self-protection and avoiding dangerous situations
  • Emergency medical training

$1,000 Study Abroad Scholarship Provided by SSI!
We chose to partner with Oranim College as it is the largest academic college of education in the North of Israel, and we want students to experience a beautiful location that is not a common tourism destination such as Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. Oranim is located in the beautiful Galilee, just 20 minutes east of Haifa. In addition, it also has an extremely diverse student body and it was important for SSI  that the visiting students will create meaningful personal connections with Israelis from different backgrounds and be truly immersed in the daily life of the country.

A $1,000 scholarship is available for the first 20 candidates who have provided proof of acceptance to the program.
If you are qualified, please contact us at info@ssimovement.org for scholarship details.

This initiative is a follow up on the pro-Israel resolutions passed by SSI in student governments across the United States that call to invest in Israel instead of boycotting it, and recommending doing so by expanding existing or creating new the study abroad opportunities in Israel. In executing the resolutions and committing to straighten the bond between Israeli and international students, students will travel to Israel and experience living in the country for an extended period while studying in a leading academic institution. We are excited to help provide such opportunity to students!
