THE WORLD ZIONIST CONGRESS (WZC) IS A REPRESENTATIVE BODY OF THE WORLD’S JEWISH PEOPLE.
|
Established by Theodor Herzl in 1897, the Zionist Congress (as it was originally known) was the legislative body of the World Zionist Organization (WZO), a non-governmental entity that promotes Zionism. Today, the two bodies are known respectively as the World Zionist Congress (WZC) and the World Zionist Organization (WZO).

Valeria Chazin, SSI’s Board Chairwoman, is on the list for the WZC Elections!
Valeria is placed #15, a very realistic spot, in slate #11 called: “ZOA Coalition: The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), Torah from Sinai, Make Israel Great (MOG) & National Pro-Israel Partners: Courageously Defending Israel, Sovereignty & the Jewish People.”
You can read more about the slate's platform and view the list of candidates HERE.
The World Zionist Congress elections are very important because they enable delegates to exert ideological influence on global Jewish agenda, as well as allocate financial and other resources to various organizations. To explain why Valeria Chazin is running with the ZOA coalition, she said: "As the co-founder of Students Supporting Israel, the way Israel and Zionism is perceived by the young generation is my top priority. Among many topics, the coalition is heavily focused on combating global and campus anti-Semitism and the BDS movement, a direct interest of mine and of SSI. My hope is to influence the field of Zionist education as it is essential for young Jewish people to be familiar with and proud of our history and identity, and know how to respond to voices trying to shake our confidence."
Please make sure to cast your vote for SLATE #11 The ZOA Coalition in these important elections to have SSI’s delegate represent us in the World Zionist Congress!
